From the Family Labridae there are lots of UK species we can catch. Ballan, Corkwing, Goldsinney and Cuckoo. They love rocks and eating molluscs as well as some worm. There is a lot of interest in this species for the LRF (light Rock FIshing) and HRF (hard Rock Fishing) movements in the UK. Basically targeting these species with lure as opposed to the more traditional bait techniques. Wrasse give a short hard battle and keeping them from dashing to a hole amongst rocks is the challenge. More and more people are taking up the challenge and enjoying the sport of Wrasse fishing. Great for beginners and a must try if you haven’t caught one.
