The Atlantic Mackerel, (Scomber scombrus) is a compact, fast and for its size a very powerful fish. Would you believe that Mackerel can live up to 18 years! I love this fish and targeted with LRF (light Rock Fishing) gear, spinning gear or fly it can make for some amazing sport. The fish makes great eating and is full of beneficial oils and it makes great bait. Please treat the Mackerel with respect.
