Over the past few days I have been sent two requests from sea anglers, both new to the sport. They are looking for some advice and may be a buddy to go fishing with for a few sessions.
If you can help, please comment on this post, or if you are new yourself and are looking for some help or a buddy then get in touch
Sea angler Richard
I have just started Beach casting, and would really value any comments or help. I live in Southampton and would like to know of any marks close bye to me that might produce some fish. I am thinking of trying Hurst Spit, at the entrance to the Solent and if anyone has fished there info on the best approach. Thanks Richard
Andy from Wiltshire looking for a sea fishing club
I have taken up sea fishing as a hobby and I am getting more
and more into it with every session. I usually fish at West Bexington
on Chesil beach but have also tried off of rocks at Illfracombe, both
places with some success and have drawn blanks, but thats just the
norm for most novice anglers. I read a blog on here about joining
clubs but as I’m a beginner I’m not sure where to start looking. So
any help in this matter would be much appreciated. I’m mainly looking
for clubs either on the south coast or around the coast to Bristol as
I live in Wiltshire and its easier to get to. Once I’m a bit more
experienced I would love to travel further to catch different species
but thats in the future when I know what I’m doing properly. I’m
learning to tie my own rigs and catch my own bait so any hints and
tips on these subjects would be great to know. Anyway, I’d love some
more information about this great passtime and am getting ready for a
summer of catching.
It would be great to help these guys out. Thanks in advance.

Andy - have a look at http://www.chesilbeach.forumotion.com - not a club but a great bunch of guys who regularily fish West bexington. Regular meets and outings so you will get some good guidance.
