WALES is to establish itself as a major draw for anglers with a new fishing tournament boasting a televised final.

The Wales Carp Fishing Championships will culminate with a final in September after heats at five locations beginning in April. Organisers have secured a deal with Sky TV and tourism bosses are confident the publicity will provide a major boost to the country’s already booming leisure fishing industry.

The competition will attract world-class anglers, with a first prize of £10,001, and total prizes of £20,001. Read more here
