Pictures of the rough sea at Porthleven

I really enjoy watching a good heavy sea running and I went down to Porthleven again today to get a few shots of the storm. Sadly my best camera is not working so I only had my camera phone - the shots could be alot better!! You just don’t get any idea of the size of the waves when you see them like this.

Back wash at sea

I reckon this final shot catches the sea going up about 30 feet, just from the backwash of a wave running into the face of another wave. While I am uploading these images I can hear the wind outside building again. Tomorrow will be really rough.

Have a look at these record beating waves in IrelandÂ

  1. They’re not bad for camera phone shots. These days it’s possible to get surprisingly good results with one, but the ‘shutter’ speed and field of view lets them down.
