I was born in Morecambe, Lancashire, what seems a very long time ago. Being next to the sea drew me to it like a child to a sweet shop. I used to fish off the old stone jetty in Morecambe as a youngster and watch in envy as, what I would have described as old men, the ability to cast to Overton on the Cumbrian coast. Now an old man, in my young eyes at least. I can cast a lot further than my younger self. However, I am always looking for new ways of casting, and increasing that all important distance. Like size, distance does not always matter.
After moving around the country through my working years on the railway and raising a family. Fishing was a long distant memory. That was, until I moved to Bristol 5 years ago. Next to the sea again.
Why not I thought!
So with old interest well and truly stirred. I bought some cheap gear and started fishing.
Not only the physical side of fishing, I was intrigued by the theory of it. Well the contradiction of the theory actually. There are lots of different ideas out there about how, and where to do it.
Being a professional trainer by trade, I know there has to be at least two ways to explain and idea. Three is better. I have taken a couple of young fisher persons under my wing over time and I am currently in the process of converting a course and Carp fisher, to the wonders and frustrations of sea fishing.
In the forth coming months I will be bringing you fishing adventures around the area of the Bristol Channel with my varied and sometimes funny, fishing pals.
To pass my time between fishing trips and planning of them, I turn my hand to making rigs and selling them on my on-line shop hosted by Ebid. Ebid is now a serious contender to EBay by keeping its prices somewhat lower than its competition. This is my ethos when it comes to selling my rigs and terminal tackle. I make enough to cover my costs and pay for my fishing adventures. You can have a look at my shop by visiting at: http://codheads-sea-fishing-tackle.ebid.net/
I am also on Twitter under @codheads1, if you can find me.
I am looking forward to writing on this blog; it is also good to receive feedback. So please feel free to email me at [email protected]
