Putting backing on your Reel

This top tip was one told to me by my brother 20 years ago.

First spool up a spare reel with your main line (fly line, braid etc) then attach your backing and add until the spool is full. Then get your new spool and wind the line from the loaded spool onto your main spool.

You should find that it loads perfectly and fills the spool just right.

Make sure you load spool with a medium tension on the line so its firm and compact.
