kayak accessory
I would like to know what you think is the most important Kayak accessory.
I would like to build this list to help those out there who are considering getting into the sport of kayak fishing but do not know which kayak accessory to spend their hard earned money on.
There is so much on the market these days which is meant to “save time†and “save effort†but what are the really good bits of kit out there on the market.
I have seen silicon spray to enhance the life span of your yak. Multi adjustable clip on / clip off rod holders, carry straps, Fish finders, G.P.S, live bait boxes, storage shelters you name it the list is endless.
Please just tell everyone via adding a comment to this post the most important bit of kit you can get and why.
I will start and safety should always be the first but I will suggest a bit of kit that you use before you get to the sea!
- Wheels – Kayak accessory wheels have made my life a pleasure! You can load your yak up at home, wheel it to the car and unload everything. At the beach all your tackle can be put in place, cag, BA, everything and then you just wheel your YAK down to the shore line.

Hi Jamie
I would say that the most important accessory for a kayak is a canoe, you can then leave your kayak at home and do some proper paddling and none of this two paddled girly nonsense.
Seriously though, one thing to bear in mind that not everyone knows is that if you carry a knife when you are out on the water, make sure it has a serated edge. This is because straight edged blades don’t cut at all well when they are underwater.
There you go, please feel free to visit my website http://johnnyscanoe.blogspot.com/ and see my canoe being built.
Cheers
Johnny
