Rapala Plugs
In my opinion probably the best plug maker on the market – Rapala Plugs
Looking at the Rapala web site they write about the first Rapala ever made in the 1930’s, by a Finnish man who whittled a piece of cork down with a knife to imitate an injured minnow. He caught bags of fish on [...]

My damaged BUTT section!!
I promised when I was writing about my recent kayak fishing trip that I would show you what happens when you show off and don’t stow your rods when landing your kayak. Well here goes, they are not the best pictures but you can see clearly the rod is now 8 inches shorter!!

Kayak fishing – the Manacles
I managed to get 5 hrs fishing in today off my RTM Disco Kayak after spending yesterday plotting reefs and wrecks onto my new Garmin 60 GPS.
I headed to Porthoustock and launched towards the Manacles, about 1 mile from the beach. The conditions were great, sunny, slight swell, light winds and small tides. Ideal for [...]

Kayak fishing GPS
I have finally bitten the bullet and today I invested in a GPS for my Kayak fishing.
I have been looking at the devices available on the market and decided upon a Garmin 60 GPS. From previous experience I have found Garmin to be quality products, and well developed and manufactured devices. The Garmin 60 is [...]

Kayak Hatches
First thing to remember is to make sure your Kayak hatch is secure before you go on the water.
Secondly they can be adapted for use as storage areas, both dry and wet (for fishing bait). The shape and design of hatch depends largely on the make and model of Kayak you have, however most [...]

Kayak fishing today
Just a very quick post about today’s attempt at Kayak fishing.
The wind where I went at Poldhu was fresh off shore. I have bought a leash to attach myself to the yak as it travells quick in the wind and I do not want to become seperated from it.
I did about 2 hrs trolling, the [...]

Fishing marks
I have added a new category for Sea fishing shore marks.
I have great knowledge of marks in Devon, Cornwall, The Isle of Man and Dorset so that’s where I will start. However when it comes to the rest of the country, I am starting to struggle.
Ramsgate, Dover, Sea Brook, Fleetwood, The Tyne, Whitby, Lowestoft are all areas [...]

Bass live bait
I have had further discussions about the best Bass live bait with a few Devon and Cornwall Bass fishermen.
It seems that the current preferred bait has to be the live prawn. There are many ways as I have discussed before on how to catch these animals so I won’t go into much detail on this [...]

Rag worm or Lug Worm
Which do you prefer Rag worm or Lug worm ?
I have a few friends here in Cornwall who swear by lug worm. They will only fish with that bait and they get some great results, especially for Bass off surf beaches. They also spend almost as much time digging bait as fishing.
I tend to follow [...]

kayak accessory
I would like to know what you think is the most important Kayak accessory.
I would like to build this list to help those out there who are considering getting into the sport of kayak fishing but do not know which kayak accessory to spend their hard earned money on.
There is so much on the market [...]
