Bass fishing article
I was flicking through Google and found this article in the Daily Express written by John Wilson.
Is this how Bass fishing in the UK really is? I do not think so; this article paints a romantic image to me and almost parallels it to big game fishing.
Bass fishing is not as great as it once [...]

Diy fishing float
Further to my post about bubble floats I have remember reading in “Hooked on Bass” (a must read for Bass fishermen) about their Jif lemon rig. This used an empty jif lemon bottle filled with wax to act as a float to cast red gill and sand eel huge distances and still surface fish.
I myself [...]

Spinning rod and Braid
Just a very quick note, but something I have recently thought about after reading a publication on fishing regarding using braid with your fishing rod.
Make sure the rings on a spinning rod are suitable for braid. Check at the angling shop before you buy as ring linings vary and some lining material can be quickly [...]

I am getting a lot of questions about fishing with a bubble float, so I will attempt to answer a few with this post.

Spinning for Bass over sand
There are a few considerations when spinning for Bass over sand as follows,
Bass like a feature to use to hide in order for them to ambush their prey
Look for areas where bait might collect
Rip currents attract Bass and scour bait from the sea bed
Rotten seaweed is home to many creatures, look for seaweed that is [...]

Mullet Fishing
The Mullet have started to show now along our estuaries. I was in Penryn on the Fal estuary today and I saw some nice sized fish working the shore line.
To fish for Mullet I get about 10 fresh mackerel and mince these up adding bran to bulk the mixture up. You really need a bucket [...]
