Strong winds in CORNWALL

Published on with 2 Comments

We had very strong winds here in CORNWALL last night. I checked xcweather.com and the wind speed was reported to be 72 MPH.

I would suggest after a good storm like that it could be worth fishing once the sea has calmed a bit.

The above image is the Harbour arm in Porthleven. A good spot for Wrasse, School Bass, Pollock, Flatties and Mackerel in the summer.

Please take care when angling and do not go if there is any risk to your safety. I will do a post on angling safety at some time. Just remember its not worth risking your life for a fish, even a BIG fish. Angling is a HOBBY.

  1. I spent a year in Cornwall last year staying on a friend’s farm in Porkellis and working in Coverack. My favourite beach is Loe Bar because of the severe undertoe and the incredible gargantian waves – I really enjoyed taking pictures of them and there is an incredible energy on that beach. If I can get someone to help me, I shall email my pics in – I love all the pictures that I have seen on this site, especially this last one on the Porthleven pier. It is difficult to put into words the magic of the Cornish coast. – Natasha
