A few KAYAK fishing tips I have picked up so far

  1. Store your catch in a dry bag within the hull. Put an ice pack or two in there to keep your catch fresh.
  2. Store your KAYAK out of the sunlight as excess sunlight can effect the material your kayak is constructed from and create early decay.
  3. Prevent the wind from blowing you of your mark to quickly by using a drogue. A coat hanger with an open-ended funnel of material should help, towed off your Yak.
  4. Wear a buoyancy aid (B.A.)
  5. Buy a supportive back rest to prevent back problems.
  6. Your mobile phone should work for about 10 miles off shore. Take it with you for emergency.
  7. Keep the deck clean and free from guts and mess.
  8. Convert an old milk crate into a kit storage device and rod holder.
  9. Get a weather report and stay safe!!
  10. Be careful of the cold when on your KAYAK. It can catch you up quickly and tire you before you know it.

There will be lots more tips to come in due course.
